Cantine Zeni: customised awnings for the tasting terrace

The best stories are those with plenty of authentic touches. In the same way, a company’s identity is also enhanced through the careful design of customised outdoor furniture. Cantine Zeni in Bardolino asked us for customised awnings for their tasting terrace, the setting for many prestigious events. The project is described below.

Customer: Cantine Zeni

Cantine Zeni is located in Bardolino, in the province of Verona. Ever since 1870, the business has been family-run, embracing both tradition and innovation. They are internationally renowned for their production of fine wines. Since 1991, their story has been told through the Wine Museum, visits to the cellars and guided tastings: a unique experience for wine enthusiasts, who come in their thousands from all over the world.

Objectives

Tastings take place on the museum terrace, with an enchanting view of Lake Garda in the distance. Cantine Zeni’s aim was to enhance the terrace with elegant and distinctive awnings, to offer shade to customers during outdoor tastings.

To convey the character of the firm, a solution was needed that was not only functional, but also capable of blending harmoniously into the environment and giving it the right look.

The solution: custom-coloured awnings in nautical fabric

We undertook the project in collaboration with Pasetto Forniture, a Valpolicella company specialising in outdoor furniture consultancy for hospitality facilities. Working in partnership, we were able to join forces to achieve the best possible result for the customer.

To meet the requirements of Cantine Zeni, we worked closely with our trusted sailmaker. We made two mobile parasols, measuring 4×4 metres, equipped with a golden fabric top cover and a ballasted base.

This solution guarantees effective protection against sun and weather, allowing visitors to the cellars and museum to fully enjoy outdoor tastings in all weather conditions. The automatic furling system allows the awnings to be folded away neatly when they are not needed.

The main challenge was to find the right shade of gold to reflect the elegance and prestige of Cantine Zeni. Through careful research and in close cooperation with both customer and supplier, we identified the appropriate PANTONE code for the shade. Indeed, nautical carbon fibre fabric allows for totally customised colouring, as well as being a material of great delicacy and strength.

Finally, we applied the Cantine Zeni logo to the awnings by screen printing.

Elegant and durable shading

The new awnings provide shade that is both elegant and durable, consistent with the style of the winery itself. The Wine Museum’s tasting terrace offers a protected and comfortable environment for all kinds of events, with a distinctive outdoor design that complements and enhances the surrounding architecture. Visitors can enjoy a high-quality, open-air tasting experience with an amazing view, immersed in the sophisticated atmosphere that characterises Cantine Zeni.

The project took about a month and a half to complete, mainly spent on the search for customisation elements, such as the colour for the awnings. For both parties, it was a pleasant and very satisfying challenge. Cantine Zeni was particularly happy with the golden shade chosen for the awnings, because it matched the request so exactly. The screen-printed logo was the perfect finishing touch.
